HER STYLE

Summer Vibes

Hey Lovies! Hopefully you guys are surviving this summer heat like I am. During the summer it is so hard to stay stylish and keep cool, we try to stick to those basic pieces and call it a day. I like to keep it classy and still have a stylish vibe during these hot summer days. The way I do that is keep it light with fabric and vibrant with colors which is not always my first pick, I usually go towards the darker colors. Thanks to #Banana Republic they always have cutest easy going looks that don't  need much pairing. This shift dress is the perfect vibrant piece to get you through  these hot summer days and the fabric feels super light to move around in. What I love about it the most is that I can wear it for business and pleasure with changing up my shoes and accessories. Can you guess how I am wearing it today?

CASUAL DATE NIGHTS..

HEY LOVIES!! I am doing all kinds of twirls and flips because I am so happy to share a style post with you guys! So let's jump into this style inspiration, shall we? So lately my fiancé  and I go on these casual date nights to just get out, have some one on one time uninterrupted. These times are also when I get to take some of my pieces out for a spin, since I barely get to where them except  for on the weekends. I like to stay casual since we stay local for the's dates. This look is a combination of basics; a cotton stretched tank, joggers to match for a monochromatic look which is my fav because I get so lazy with pairing colors now a days. For some dramaticss  I threw in a chiffon duster. No look is complete without a pair of heels so I opted for some simple black strapped heels. I felt comfy, tres chic and so fashionable. All pieces can be worn separately of course. I am starting to become a layered kinda girl so I can't wait to share some more layered looks with you. Oh! and how can I forget to mention that this entire look from head to toe is from F21, they recently opened one near me and I am in love with all there basic items.

BEDAZZLED KIMONO

I love finding little treasures in my Mommy's closet! Although we don't wear the same size in clothing, she has things I can wear for an over sized kind of style….. which I'm obsessed with. She has had this kimono since before I was born, so it's a vintage gem as well. I decided to wear this off white kimono with intricate and reflective beading over a simple little black dress and strapped sandals on my feet. The kimono is so bedazzled that it doesn't need much added to it. I can also wear it with a simple black or white jumpsuit , belt it with some skinny jeans, a pencil skirt and simple tank underneath. It's the best way to add a little sexy pizzaz to your look. I'm sure you can find the best over sized kimono in a vintage shop near you.

And........I'M ENGAGED!!!!!!!!

OMG! Sooo this past Tuesday Oct 20, 2015 at 8:30p.m the love of my life, my bubs, my gentleman  popped the question and I said absolutely yes.......well I tried to say absolutely but I was sobbing like a baby but he got the hint from me shaking my head up and down. I'm  over the moon and back excited, we have such a movie romance story that I can't wait to share. It is definitely  too much to write so we are planning to share in video. You lovies already know there will be an additional  link to Herrunway Blog for my wedding planning experience, so be on the look out for that. I also got this dress from Modern Muse Boutique,  but unfortunately  they are out of stock and probably won't  be restocked. I know, I know! I've  gotten  a million inquiries about this dress. Ya'll know I look out for my lovies and found some alternative sites that you may be able to find this similar style.

When in doubt always choose these two sites for bohemian styles throughout the year,  free people are now available at Macy's.

Rich Fall Colors Look Book

Hey lovies! Fall is officially  in the air and I'm starting it off with rich colors in my wardrobe. Ever since I colored my hair to honey blonde I've  been into the deeper reds, browns and fuchsia pinks. I didn't  think that changing your hair color can affect the colors you wear, in my opinion those colors look better and definitely adds a pretty pop of color. I hit up a sale at Charlette Rouse and found the perfect fall colored dresses for only $15!!! Ya'll

already know I grabbed about three. I love that each dress are transitional for the fall/winter/spring. The deep red dress gives me Valentino regal vibe and the brown dress is super sassy and sexy.

The sweater I'm  wearing in this look book was stolen from my boyfriend's closet.....shhhhh. Shopping in your man's closet is the best way to layer some of your feminine pieces so...... thank you baby! I love the cable knit details and the fact I can layer it with various buttoned up collard shirts. This style sweater is easy for creating looks. Great for business casual looks or for a day of meetings and errands.

Enjoy this look book and I hope you gain some style inspiration

Until next style,

I finished this look with a bold cheetah print with my shoes and clutch. This look is perfect for the office, church  or any business casual event. Mixing business with fashion was the goal for this  look and I think I nailed it. Hope this look gave you inspiration!

40'S TWIST LBD

Hey Lovies! I was in the mood for a little style inspiration post.
I was recently going through old 40's pictures, I was inspired by women that had beautiful
hour glass shapes paired with such classic style. So ya'll know me I decided to put a little modern
twist on that style and era by wearing my cotton multi purpose body con black dress and styled it with a classic ox blood cap toe heel. I decided to modernly assecorise this look with thick cuff bracelets and a navajo print necklace. Jump into a different era and modernize it with current day trends. Until next style....

COUNTRY GLAM

Flowy chiffon is usually my go to fabric in the summer, but this silky bohemian dress
made me believe I need more of it in my life. This dress was so airy and felt luxurious, it nevery stuck to my legs with friction because silk lovest to do that. I have the option to wear it casually or formal wear, which I'm always down for. The only sad thing about it is that I paid $45, full retail price for it at Charming Charlies. I actually wasn't  so upset about the price because this is one of the pieces that I will have for life, I call it the investment garment. It has an empire waist line so down the line it will be great for a growing belly or just me fluctuating in sizes like us women do. This look is perfect for any body shape and height I highly recommend this dress for the prego mom's it's great on comfort and of course cute factor. So look up a Charming in your area or online and cop you one hun!

GYPTIAN STYLE

What up lovies! I'm of from work this whoooole week so you know what that means! I get to sleep in and blog everyday.....well almost everyday. I was in a hippy/gypsy type of mood, it all began with the hair tye that I got years ago as a gift from Ethiopia, and maybe a bad hair day. Ao thank God for turbans to cover uo these God forsaken bad hair days, which makes for a cute bohemian styled look. I did a whole lot of remixing with this look;  the top I have on is from forever21 which is actually a bodycon dress and I destroyed these boyfriend jeans myself that I purchased from Rue21 years ago. This look to me is a whole lot of bright ideas that came together nicely....if I do say so myself 😊. Be creative with your summer looks ladies and try something new, I can't  wait to see what you come up with.

Until next style....

DRAPPED IN DENIM

Happy Sunday my lovies! Feeling comfy and casual in this chambray denim look. Both pieces were purchased from Francessca's in the Perimeter mall for half off the original price. You guys know me and my sales, I paid a total of $65 for both items. I finished off this look with the perfect taupe finishes. The suede ankle heels are from Banana Republic, which I paid full price for #sadface. On a better note, the earrings were $7 from Target and the clutch is vintage. Denim looks are the perfect easy, affordable  and super stylish get up. This look is appropriate enough for the workplace, happy hour, a special date or a day out. Thanks for stopping by lovies!

Until next style

MODERNLY MOD

Printed shaggy styled pants paired with a crocheted crop top, reminded me of the perfectly poshed and high fashioned woman in the 60's. This entire outfit was purchased from Rue21 for only $21.00! #bargainshopperextradonare it's  stylish, fun and I didn't have to break the bank for it. What I love the most about this look is that  both pieces can work well with other things in my closet, so you'll  definitely  see these pieces again.  It's the perfect mix and match of pattern and texture without overwhelming each other. Mix some patterns and textures of your own lovies, I can't wait to see what you come up with!

CHAMBRAY JUMPSUIT

Hey lovies! I totally thought my last post would be the end of my summer jumpsuit series......but as you can see I could not resist the sale! While I was supposed to be out out on business yesterday I passed by one of my favorite stores Fabrik. They have a 30% off  sale on most of their merchandise, make sure you ladies go check it out before it's all gone. So back to this halter top denim chambray jumpsuit. This is the perfect casual jumpsuit that can transition from day to night. You can wear this jumpsuit with wedges, a block heel and cute strappy heels and it will look amazing. I chose to wear it with my favorite printed heels of the season and a  bold red patent leather clutch for a beachy vibe look. The combinations I will do with this jumpsuit are endless.

THE CLASSIC SUMMER JUMPSUIT

What catches your eye in the background?! lol

My last jumpsuit for the summer......maybe. You lovies know how much
I love a versatile piece and this jumpsuit is going to look fab with different
belts sinching in the waist and different blazers throughout every season. This was the last one left at Lizard Thicket and in a size large! Eeek! But I bought it anyways. Last night I attended the  Menswear fashion trunk show and I thought this jumpsuit would be perfect to wear. I felt confident in a room filled with men but still feminine  and not over doing the sex factor. I had fun with summer bold colors to accessorize. The orange fringe clutch is from Charming Charlies and the chandelier earrings are from forever21, both items were the right amount of extras for this jumpsuit.

Click the HerRunwayy link for pictures and brand information from the Menswear Trunk Show.

SUMMER JUMPSUIT SERIES

Part 2

Let me tell you guys, this jumpsuits comfort level is out of this world! I feel like I am wearing PJ's. Comfortable, affordable and stylish for the win! I bought this floral wide leg jumpsuit from Forever21. I know that has been the theme lately on herstyle but I have found so many great deals  on the forever21 site that I just couldn't pass up. This romper is so versatile, I can wear it to many different occasions like; a BBQ with wedges, a fashion show, date night, girls night with sexy strappy sandals and if you wear a bandeau  underneath it and pair it with a blazer for work or church. I wanted bring out the green in the jumpsuit so I paired it with these beautiful vibrant green statement earrings and heels.

One more jumpsuit to go.....stay tuned!

The Ballerina Tulle Skirt

Hey lovies, let me just say I am totally obsessed with tulle skirts(I probably say that a lot huh?). After watching Sarah Jessica Parker strut the streets of NYC and Paris in Sex and the City with the cutest tutu skirts I fell in love. It was the beginning of  a never dying trend. I've always wanted a tutu skirt, but I said that I will never purchase one unless I can try it on in a store to see if I can pull it off lS.J.P style and because I really hate the hassle of online returns. This entire look  from head to toe is from Rue21. I chose to fun up the skirt with these printed Aztec sandals, a lose tank top that I tied in the back and a bold statement necklace. It's summer appropriate and I would wear this out on a date or for a fun girls night out.  I recommend Rue21 for the cutest statement pieces. You'll be surprised of what cute outfits you can put together there, it's not just a teeny bopper store. Thanks for visiting me lovies and I hope this look inspired you to have fun with fashion and get your tulle on!

Summer Jumpsuit Series

Part One

Hey lovies! My current fashion obsession are jumpsuits! I love the fact that it's a one stop shop, hassle free and basically a complete outfit all in one. All you have to do is accessorize and your good to go. I'm a firm believer in fun and simple looks for the warmer months and a jumpsuit is a great way to do it. This pinstriped off the shoulder jumpsuit is from forever21, the material is breathable and soft. Pairing this jumpsuit was easy because I was going for a sultry 70's vibe, the chunky necklace is from lane bryant...yes I know it's for curvier women but I love their accessories (it's my secret store....so the secrets out) and of course wedges on my feet because of the wide leg style. I felt comfy and fabulous walking the streets of downtown Decatur, Ga. I hope this inspired you to style your very own jumpsuit.

Stay tuned for my next jumpsuit look!

MY 25TH BIRTHDAY DRESS!

Hey Lovies!! So this past weekend I celebrated my 25th birthday in this gorgeous sequin detailed dress that I purchased from Lulu's online. I got it on sale for $26, I know how awesome is that?! The price makes the dress look even better. I decided to go without accessories because the dress in itself was enough bling for me. What I love about this dress the most is that I am wearing it and the dress is not wearing me. It's so important that when buying a statement dress that it not overwhelm your figure, make sure it looks like it was perfectly tailored just for you.

FALL PREVIEW 2014

I can't believe summer is almost over! But I'm excited because that means I get to have fun in fashion with my favorite fall trends. I wanted to do a little fall preview for you lovies, to showcase some ways to style your early fall outfits. A lot of these pieces are transitional  that I wore this summer, If you watched my haul video you might recognize some of these pieces.

NEUTRAL PRINT JUMPSUIT

Try wearing those summer jumpers (rompers) in the fall. I paired my fun neutral color jumper with this dark blazer, I just love the cool beige details on the pockets. Since it's early fall I wore these suede peep toe/cut out booties to complete this look.

 CROCHET SWEATER

Lets edge it out! I can wear this crochet sweater so many different ways, but this is my fav. The faux leather panel tights are a perfect match for this sweater. If you switch out the tank color underneath this sweater and wear a different bottom, you'll have a brand new outfit every time.

COUNTRY CHIC

Girls in the south love their hats and boots! I have definitely become one of those southern girls. T-shirts aren't only for jeans and daisy dukes, feminize your look with an a-line or  pencil skirt.

KIMONO DRESS

Hey Lovies! This style inspiration comes from my obsession with this kimono trend that a lot of us girls were rocking all summer. Of course it's one of those pieces that you can dress casually and wear out and about to run errands or dress it up with a simple dress underneath and jazz it up with the right pair of heels. I chose to remix my sleeveless kimono and style it as a wrap dress, I wanted to wear it casually with with these cute strappies that I got from Target for only $8! With the right pair of  heels this can easily turn into a daytime look.
Earrings: Forever 21
Belt: Forever 21
Kimono:Marshall's
Heels: Target
 Total outfit cost: $45.00!

MULTIPURPOSE #LBD

Hey Lovies!!! It's been a while since you've seen me, but I'm here ready to share some fab style ideas with you.

One of my favorite summer trends is the black and white color scheme, it's chic and slimming for any body type. I have this great black multipurpose wrap dress that I got from Target, a dress like this you can purchase anywhere (Forever 21, H&M, Express) It's just one of those essential pieces you gotta have in your closet girls. I call it a multipurpose dress because as you can see  the way I styled it below I wore it as a top and paired  with a leather pencil skirt, for a more sexy yet classy sophisticated look. You can also opt for a casual look and dress it  down. Try pairing your #lbd with a light cardigan or sleeveless denim jacket like I did with my white denim motor vest. This #lbd transformed from daytime to nighttime without having to take it off.

GIRLS NIGHT OUT #OOTD

I know you ladies can agree with me when I say I love getting together with just my girls. My girls night out usually consist of food, food, drinks and more food!  So I like to keep it casual and sexy, because even though it's a girls night out I know some of you single ladies still want to attract a cute guy. For girls night I'm heading out with a shear chiffon top with a cut out  back. I paired my top with these destroyed jeans and pointed toe cheetah heels. There you go all ready for a fun girls night out, classy with a tsp. of sexy.

Top: Kohls Dept. Store

CLASSY BIKER

Hey lovies! I hope this Sunday is treating you well with lots of rest. Today I decided to dress down my classy  pencil skirt with a white denim motor vest for church. You guys know how much I love versatile pieces and both this pencil skirt and motor jacket do just that. I can wear the motor vest with blue jeans and dress up my pencil skirt with a silk top. I kept this outfit simple by pairing it with these cute leather strip peek-toe sling back heels and hoop earrings to accessorize. If your going to wear it twice, don't wear it the same way the second time. Always remember! save a buck when you go out shopping and pick out those items that you can wear with tuns of other things in your closet. Thanks for visiting me today and wear those classy pieces and edge it out on your runwayy!

Both Top and Skirt are from Kohls Dept. Store.

WHAT  TO WEAR DATING SERIES

SCARF PANTS

Hey lovies! So today's #ootd are my uber comfy and boho chic scarf pants, ladies if you don't have a pair get some!!These are a must for spring/summer and even early fall. I just love the versatility of this style, they come in wide leg like the one I have on, cropped, and slim fit. I hope this inspired you to get a pair of your own and rock em your way!

HAIR AND #FOTD

I always stress that it's all about the whole look. For my hair I went with a soft
bohemian hairstyle with a french halo braid in the back (which you can't see, sorry) and for my makeup I have a light plum eye shadow, real simple and light foundation coverage, and on my lips I'm wearing NYX cosmetics doll rose lip gloss. All the makeup I have on is from the drugstore, you can still beat your face with simply cheap products.

HOW TO ORGANIZE YOUR SMALL CLOSET SPACE!7

Tuxedo Swiss Polka Dots

My #FOTD: easy breezy springy is what I like to call it. Using those copper golds on the eyes, blush on the cheek bones and nude lip gloss will give you this sweet spring look. I also used a brown liner on my bottom lash line for a natural sultry look.

Hello Lovies! If you watched my sensitive skin care video I promised an outfit post and here I am fulfilling my promise. Today I wanted to show you guys some of my fav spring wear items. This tuxedo top is a great transitional piece for all seasons, it was a gift from my very fashionable bf(Thanks again lovie). I love that it's light weight and a tad bit sheer, I definitely will wear this all spring with shorts and skirts (white tops are a must in your closet....very chic) I was going for a more casual preppy chic look so I paired it with these bf denim shorts and MK wedges. I went with minimal jewelery with these cute bangles that are so pretty and dainty, they have a pastel pink color pattern on them which compliments my foe snake skin clutch.

TRIBAL FUN

I love my red lip color.  When applying my lip liner instead of going with the shape of my lips on my upper lip line I drew the line straight across for some Angelina Jolie plumped lips. Light foundation and heavy contoure....my fav. Don't forget to lighten up those eyes with a light color in your inner crease.
This outfit has FUN written all over it Tribal print is one of my favorite trends for this spring/summer. These pants are super comfy which is always my go to before ever leaving the house, especially for all you on the go women out there. Wearing prints are the best way to wear those extra comfy fabrics. I can wear these pants high wasted or at my hip, but since I paired it with a crop top I decided to wear it high wasted. Have some fun with fashion and tribal print your wardrobe!

 BIRTHDAY DRESS!!!

Hello lovies! I just had the best weekend ever! It was my birthday weekend and my honey came to celebrate with me. Yesterday I wore this classy sexy cutout dress from Nasty gal. The cutouts are very flattering and I love the sheer overlay, I definitely felt  classy and sexy in this dress. You guys know it's all about the whole look, so to accessorize this dress I went for minimal jewelery because the dress definitely does the talking. I wore diamond hoop earrings,  matching bracelet, blinged out clutch with these ankle strap sheer heels from Lulu's. Check out my instagram @herrunwayy for pictures of my fun filled weekend.

Happy Easter!
xoxo

#FOTD

Makeup was done by herrunwayy's own Whitpks. She did an amazing job! I wanted to look  glamorous so  I added some rollers for some sexy voluminous curls. As for the makeup Whittpks went light on my foundation with a heavy contour, and added a pop of pink on my lips(MAC- I'm passioned) she's always telling me to add some color on my lips other than my signature red , but I loved it.

Thanks for visiting me!

FLORAL ROMPER

Hi my loves! Last night I went to a mixer to support the other half of herrunwayy whittpks and it turned into a pre birthday celebration. What's a little business without pleasure right? Although the weather was wet in the spring spirit I found it appropriate to wear this bold floral romper and cobalt blue heels both from fab'rik
Boutique in Peachtree City, Ga. I've been adding a lot of color to my wardrobe this season, which I don't do very often. If your not that big on  bright colors try adding pops of color in your accessories such as; your jewelry, shoes, or clutch. Be bold this season with great accent colors!

          #FOTD

I went for a soft glam look last night with a light copper color on my eyes and dark liner for a sultry look.
THANKS FOR VISITING ME MY LOVES!

SPRING INSPIRED LOOK

Hey dolls! I'm having a beautiful Sunday afternoon and I hope that you are too.

One of my favorite things to do is recreate looks that I see in magazines, runway shows or just browsing the internet. This look was inspired by a fall look book I found just browsing the internet (can't remember the designer). I really loved the textures of the sparkly top combined with the wool cloak and bold colors in the skirt, so I decided to remix the look for spring. The floral skirt I have on is actually a dress as you can see in the picture above. I paired it with a sequins top  that dips low in the back, which gives this look a little pizazz. This outfit is great for transitioning from daytime to nighttime, just change your flats into a great pair of strappy sandals. Sn. the guys love strappy sandals;)

POPS OF COLOR!

HELLO LOVIES! I missed you guys these past two weeks, I was severely under the weather but I'm back in action sharing my pop of color #ootd with you. Today was the perfect spring day in Georgia minus the crazy pollen attack, it was cool and sunny just how I like it. I was able to wear my crochet knitted sweater that I wore in a couple of post ago with this beautiful pops of berry floral skirt. I feel so girly and of course comfy for a day at work. To add some more fun to this outfit, I decided to bring the color blue in with these Nine West suede heels and sapphire earrings from Francessca's. It's all about the whole look, so I kept it simple with my hair and makeup to let my outfit do the talking. I pulled my hair up into a bun for a more chic look. As for the makeup; I used concealer underneath my eyes to brighten up my face, bronzer on my cheek bones for a slight contour, and a berry lipstick on my lips. I hope this inspired you to brighten up your wardrobe this spring.

HERE IS A BETTER LOOK AT MY MAKEUP

not too much just enough ;)

Guess who will be vlogging on youtube soon?! I will!!

be on the look  out for new videos on my youtube channel Tahana Simon, the name will be changed soon to Herrunway Blog. I do have two videos uploaded on there now of my shopping adventure to The exchange and a tutorial of how I layered my spring/summer dress for winter.

STREET STYLE

Long time no see! It's been a while but you know how life can be sometimes.....hectic and tons of distractions. I couldn't stay away too long because I have outfits that I wanted to share with you.

So thank God for Spring weather, because I couldn't wait to wear this chiffon foe wrap top that my sis-in-love gave me for Christmas. This top can be worn in so many different ways and I chose to dress it down with these white jeans that I destroyed myself. I really suggest that you don't throw out your denim jeans, try cutting them into shorts, roll them up at the bottom or destroy them like I did. To add a little street style flare to this outfit, I wore these pointed toe studded heels and HUGE hoop earrings that have the same studded details on the shoes. Your accessories don't always have to be your earrings and shoes, try a pop of color on your lips to make a bold statement. This outfit is great for both day time and night time.

RESORT READY!

Someone please take me away on vacation! I feel like I need to get on a plane and go somewhere exotic in this outfit. I was inspired to create this look from a picture I saw of Kim Kardashian in this netted top and high waisted  long skirt. It was slightly risque but classy and chic at the same time, remember it's all about how you carry yourself.

I recreated this red skirt to fit more like a pencil skirt. I really didn't want to throw this skirt out so I took it in on the sides  for a more fitted look. You guys know how I like to save a coin, so my advice to you is recreate those old items  that you don't wear anymore to create one of a kind pieces (ask a professional if sewing is not your thing). My head wrap is also from an old top,  I loved the flower detail on it so much that I cut it up  to make a hair band.  Hair ties and turbans are very in  this season, I love them because they can hide that bad hair day ladies lol. What a great excuse to leave the house with your hair tied up and still look stylish. Try wearing turbans and hair bands with long summer dresses or a bathing suit while on the beach this spring and summer. It brings a Grecian and boho chic feeling to a great spring/summer ensemble.

 ACCESSORIZE!

Today was one of those I don't know what to wear days. So when you're having one of those days reach for a simple piece in your closet; like a simple black dress, white button up top, or simple t-shirt. This avoids making your room a mess by trying on and throwing on the floor type situations. You can accessorize your simple piece with whatever you want. Today I wore a plain grey dress and added my plaid waist long blazer over it to add a pop of pattern and color. I didn't like how bulky it looked over the dress so I added a red belt to cinch in my waist (my fav accessory) to finish this look I wore my chunky pearl necklace. Easy breezy and simple without the hassle. Enjoy this beautiful Sunday guys!

xoxo

Remix your office look

Hey all my working ladies! I know that having to go to work in business attire can become so boring, so I wanted to share with you how I try to mix things up in the office.  I paired my white Victorian ruffle button up with a thin knit cheetah print sweater. Instead of tucking the sweater into my skirt, I wore it over the skirt for a dress look .  I added the patent leather belt to cinch in my waist and matching patent leather shoes to finish up the look. I can also wear this outfit for a night out without the ruffle button up underneath. All three pieces I'm wearing can be remixed for other looks as well. Hope I inspired you to do a little remixing of your own.

OFF DAY CASUAL

Three post in two days! That's a record for me. I promise to make time to post my #ootd's more often.
So I had a day off and look how beautiful it is outside. It made running a few errands not so bad. You can't notice but that black and white striped skirt is actually a long sleeve dress that I got from Old Navy last spring. I wanted to show you guys a more casual layered look. This is a very easy and simple outfit for a day out.

I want to see your layered looks too, so if you follow me on Instagram @herrunwayy tag me in your layered look. Just hashtag #herrunwayyblog, I will post my favorite look on the blog.

HAPPY MONDAY !

MIXING PRINTS AND HIGH SLITS

Can you believe that this skirt is actually a dress?! I love the way the bottom of this dress looks so much that I couldn't wait for the warm weather to wear it again. The best way to wear your warm weather items are to layer them with your winter items. As you saw in the video on the home page, I  simply paired my blue striped sweater with a military style blazer over it. Make sure that you wear a thin knit sweater if you want to try this look, so that you won't look so bulky with  thicker material. My clutch is from guess and the grey snake skin strappies are from fab'rik as you saw in the last post. There you have it mixing prints with summer dress high slits!

FAB'RIK SALE STEAL!

I'm so excited to share with you guys this cute little dress that I got from fab'rik in Peachtree City this past week. I always find amazing deals, I like to call it sale lucky. So I walk into fab'rik and low and behold they were having a buy one get one free sale! And yes shoes were added into the deal.  I'm wearing a mock wrap dress  and it's a great transitional piece, it also looks great on all shapes. I can wear this dress multiple ways;  throw a blazer over it with boots or a fur vest for a more boho chic look. This dress was originally $62 and I got it for only $40, which means the shoes were freeeee.......and if it's free it's for me lol. The shoes are a snake skin strappy sandal, which I thought went perfectly with the zigzag pattern on the dress. So there you have it ladies an entire outfit for $40 that just makes me love this outfit even more.

CROP TOPS AND HIGH WAIST

#OOTD

It is so nice to finally have functional weather again. After the Atlanta ice storm I went to Philadelphia to visit my honey and the weather there wasn't any better. So since it feels great out I get to wear a cute outfit. As you can see from my last two post I loooove A-line skirts; you can pair it with a button up top tied up at the end, a tank top with a cropped or regular length blazer or a crocheted cropped sweater like I did. To add a little edge to this outfit I wore my fringe DIY necklace, and you already know I was excited to wear strappy sandals (thank God I had a pedicure lol) hopefully it remains nice out because there are more outfit ideas I'd like to share with you. Enjoy this beautiful weather my fellow Georgians as for the North pole peeps stay warm! lol

REMIXED COBALT BLUE RETRO A-LINE

I promised that I would post a different look with this cobalt blue retro a-line skirt and here it is ladies!
Last time I wore this skirt I paired it with a belt and a crop top. This time I went with a more casual look with just a simple tank top and threw on a blazer. What makes this outfit are the accessories; the multi colored mirror necklace was gifted, my purse is an old item and my bracelet is from Old Navy
Don't be afraid to mix a little print with your skirt and blazer to jazz up your look.

SLEEK AND CHIC IN ALL BLACK

This outfit was inspired by Rachel Zoe's Fall 2014 collection.  Rachel Zoe creates such tasteful but very stylish pieces, not every woman wants to show a butt cheek lol I'm just sayin.  I paired these Julie skinny pants that I got from the loft with this vintage waist long blazer and a belt to cinch in my waist. As far as the accessories, the clutch is vintage and my peep toe white color block heels are from Target.  I hope you like this outfit as much as I do. I hope this gave you an idea of how you can piece together a sleek and chic pants suit.

MY FAVORITE GRAMMY RED CARPET LOOKS

Zendaya is my favorite look on the carpet, maybe because I would wear this dress myself. It represents my style understated but sexy. She looks her age and she's not doing toooo much and trying tooo hard. This is what I call #herrunwayyapproaved because she is giving me  PERFECTION!
Shop www.polyvore.com, www.lulus.com  for this sexy split trend.
www.renttherunway.com has lots of designer gowns with splits that you can rent on a budget!
(little hint for you prom dress shoppers)

My second favorite has to be her, she the Tamar Braxton. I love that she looks so Hollywood glam in that perfect red gown (know your right shade of red for your skin color). She didn't overdue it with over the top jewels and accessories, simplicity can go a long way ladies. As she would say, she did that!
 #herrunwayyapproaved
Chrisette Michelle stunned me in this bold print pant suit on the carpet. I mean how amazing does she look in this suit?! I think the Grammy's gives you more room to have fun with your look and truly express yourself as an artist and Chrisette did her thang! The bold print is one of my favorite trends for this spring, and it is tailored to her perfectly. I say it's #herrunwayyapproaved
Shop www.forever21.com for this bold print trend, on a budget.

There were many metallic dresses on the carpet tonight but Ciara has to be my favorite. Her baby bump is just gorgeous in this dress. The design on this dress looks so vintage, which I'm obsessed with. I told you guys about this metallic trend for this spring and here you go!

 HER STYLE FASHION SHOW REVIEW

This Saturday I went to a fashion show at PLRG  where they showcased some pieces from their boutique.  There was also a new up and coming Atlanta desginer named Edvin who  showcased some pieces from his brand Theophilio. Edvin is a Jamaican native raised in New Jersey but relocated here to Atlanta three years ago. This show was very different from all the other fashion shows that I have personally seen, he definitely stepped out of the box. He showcased a men and women's line and both were eye catching to say the least. The pieces were very abstract and bold. This line gave him a sense of "freedom" says the designer. He took his inspiration for this line from the movie "The Fall" which takes place in five different countries. His favorite locations in the movie were Greece and Egypt; which is why he chose olive green, mustard yellow, red and this beautiful bold flower print for his colors. Here are some shots I captured from the show below.

FASHION SHOW OOTN

I'm in love with this cobalt blue plaid skirt that I got from  The Exchange. I love items that I can dress up or wear casually, I definitely will make another post on how I can recycle this skirt. I paired it with this grey crop top that I got from Forever21 and studded belt to add a little edge to the skirt, and on my feet I wore grey booties. There you go I was fashion show stylish!

GETTING READY FOR SPRING....ALREADY!

I've started the countdown til spring (my birth season) and we have 68 more days left in this dreadful cold weather. I know I know I'm getting ahead of myself because we are in the midst of winter right now, but I'm actually behind in this fashion world. I just want to make sure you guys have a heads up of all these cool new trends. As I look at all these fashion magazines like InStyle, Vogue and Elle all I see are these bold spring colors, eclectic patterns and fun trends. Here are some of the beautiful patterns, colors and trends I'm obsessed with for the upcoming season.

WINTER NEUTRALS OOTD

I normally wouldn't wear white in the winter, because to me dark colors are for winter and light colors are for the spring and summer....well I was sooo wrong. Winter white is very in this season, just be careful of the shade and how you wear it. Try off white shades and pairing it with brown and tan shades. I chose a very simple and casual look with  light makeup. I decided to make my Target ankle boots my statement piece, which I got on super super sale for only 10 bucks. I'm so happy that I didn't drop anything on me all day! yay me!

Shopping Adventure @ The Exchange!

So today I went on a little outing to the Exchange in Town Square and explored their new space just next door to their old one. This space is absolutely gorgeous! There is a lot of space to shop and  increased inventory.  I love shopping  at The Exchange because they have so many high end brands for a discounted price, and I know we all love a

LADY IN LACE

 FALL WESTERN LOOK

This outfit is one of my favorite looks for fall. I created this look with pieces from my closet. That's what I love about transitional pieces, I can make each item look so different. The oldest item I have on is the blazer, it use to be a suit jacket that I never wore. Being a clothes hoarder, I kept it. So glad I did because it's my fav blazer! Perfect statement piece for the fall.

Remember don't throw your clothes away, you never know when shopping your closet is going to come in handy!

Where I shopped:

Denim top(Rue21)

Corduroys(Dots)

My high end items are my Ralph Lauren belt and Nine West gold heels.

  QUILTED LEATHER

Because I'm petite in the hip area it's hard to find a skirt that fits correctly, without making me look like a little boy in a skirt. This skirt cuts off  right before my knees and gives me a little hip and booty action. This is a a great versatile skirt that I can wear to the office and out on the town. I paired it with a very simple leather panel top with the same quilted detail in the skirt.

If you have a statement piece on, try wearing it with simple items. This will allow your statement piece to pop!

Where I shopped:
Quilted leather skirt(The Exchange)

Leather panel top(T.JMaxx)

Shoes( Dots)

 Clutch(Vintage)

 Earrings(Vintage)

 Cuff bracelet( Target)
